A new analytical tool can improve a hospital’s ability to limit the spread of antibiotic-resistant infections over traditional methods like contact tracing, according to a new study led by researchers at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and published in the journal Nature Communications. The method infers the presence of asymptomatic carriers of drug-resistant pathogens in the hospital setting, which are otherwise invisible.
